Reese Witherspoon Talks About Her ‘Wild’ Role In Vogue Interview; Says She Hires A Hypnotist To Calm Her Down Before Acting

Reese Witherspoon's 'country chic, city cool' image is about to change with her recent role as the writer Cheryl Strayed in her novel-turned-film biography Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail. In an interview with Vogue for the October 2014 issue, the 38-year old actress talks about her experiences behind the controversial racy scenes plus the 73 Random Questions thrown in an impromptu manner to the actress.

"I just didn't want to hear, 'Oh, we don't want to see Reese have sex...Oh, can we not have any profanity? I wanted it to be truthful, I wanted it to be raw, I wanted it to be real," the actress said readily explaining how she bravely stepped out from her comfort zone.

Cheryl Strayed, the writer of the memoir,  is said to have numerous meetings with the Southern belle several times before the movie shoot discussing about the different aspects of the character in the movie. Her encounters with Witherspoon led her to slate some impressions about the actress.

"There's nothing artificial about her. I think that's what makes her such a spectacular actress and such a relatable movie star, too. Reese is one of us. She's real people," the writer told Vogue.

Further, E! Online stated that the Legally Blonde actress admitted to hire the services of a hypnotist who will let her be in the proper mindset before they shoot the sex scenes in Wild. This revelation is also included in the Vogue interview.

In the end, the This Means War star reflects on her experiences to fully give body to Cheryl Strayed's character.

"Nobody knows what goes on behind closed doors, but I think there's a general sense now that I've lived a pretty textured life," she admitted. "So many of the things that Cheryl goes through in the book I've been through, you know? I've been married, I've been divorced. I haven't lost my mother, but my mother's mother died in a very similar way, of an aneurysm very suddenly."

Meanwhile, Witherspoon has more revelations in the 73 Random Questions interview.

One things, she admitted that she could do a backflip on a trampoline and if given the chance, she would love to invite all female senators to dinner.
