"The Mentalist" season 7 spoilers hint that the new FBI rookie agent won't get in between Patrick Jane and Teresa Lisbon as she has her eyes set on Kimball Cho. Meanwhile, Simon Baker's character now appears to be free after the death of Red John.

Primtime Unreality TV dished "The Mentalist" season 7 spoilers: "There have been rumors that fan favorite Kimball Cho could be set for a new love interest in new FBI rookie agent Michelle Vega, who is replacing Emily Swallow's character Kim for the final season. There hasn't been anyone special in Cho's life for a good while now, will he end the series with a new love?" it said.

The TVGuide earlier reported "The Mentalist" season 7 spoilers when it said that the character of Michelle Vega will appear in future episodes and her "by-the-book" orientation will clash with the unorthodox methods of Patrick Jane (Simon Baker).

Michelle Vega is also very ambitious and is hinted to be very qualified for the position. It's also rumored that she's going to play spoiler to the Patrick Jane and Teresa Lisbon romance, although this could not be confirmed.

In a featurette on the Red John story arc, executive producer Tom Szentgyorgyi confessed that it has prevented them from exploring other directions for Patrick Jane and Teresa Lisbon. With the death of the main villain, the two FBI agents have now found the freedom to express their feelings for one another.

"It's a bit of a black op, figuring out what the audience wants and what they're feeling about the show," Bruno Heller said in the featurette.

"You can't keep tricking audience or vamping on the audience with that kind of critical plot point. So rather than play games anymore, it felt like the audience was ready for a definitive statement," he said.
