‘7th Heaven’ Actress Sarah Goldberg Found Dead Of Natural Causes, Passes Away At Age 40

Tragic news. Actress Sarah Goldberg, who was known to many television viewers for portraying Matt Camden's wife on "7th Heaven," was found dead on Sept. 27 at her family's cabin in Wisconsin.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, an autopsy performed on the 40-year-old actress, who also went by the name Sarah Danielle Madison, revealed that she had passed away in her sleep from natural causes. However, her mother, Judy Goldberg, revealed to the publication that a heart ailment is suspected to be the root.

"She went to sleep and didn't wake up," Goldberg's mother told the Chicago publication.

The actress, who found recognition after starring as a Rabbi's daughter who fell in love with Christian preacher's son Matt Camden, played by Barry Watson, on "7th Heaven," also had roles in "Judging Amy," "House," and "90210." She got her start in acting when offered the chance to appear as an extra in the Julia Roberts-Dermot Mulroney film "My Best Friend's Wedding," which was shot near her family home in Chicago.

"She would walk down the street here, or places in Wisconsin, and people would come up to her and say, 'You played the daughter' " of the rabbi, Goldberg's mother told the Chicago Sun-Times, regarding her daughter's role on "7th Heaven."

News of Goldberg's death comes just hours after TMZ reported that Stephen Collins, who starred as the Camden family patriarch, Reverend Eric, on "7th Heaven," confessed to child molestation charges on tape.

In the audio recording, which was taped by Collins' soon-to-be ex-wife Faye Grant and leaked by TMZ, Collins can allegedly be heard saying that he exposed himself to an 11-year-girl "a couple of times." The New York Police Department is reportedly investigating the situation and revealed that there are "at least 3 victims."
