American Horror Story, a hugely popular horror series on television is back to woo audience with a fresh line-up of episodes as its new season titled Freak Show premiered on 8^th October. This will be the fourth season of American Horror Story and has no connection with the previous seasons. Additionally, the makers of the show have also retained most of its original cast including Emmy award winner Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Angela Besset, Kathy Bates and Emma Roberts amongst many others.

The new season is based in the year 1952 considered to be the golden era for television in America when people found it easier to entertain themselves from the cosy confines of their homes instead of paying money and watching sideshows. The Monster's Amongst Us, the first episode of this new series opened to a tremendous response from the audience. Set-up in the small town of Jupiter in Florida, the new series starts with an interesting narrative wherein Elsa portrayed by Jessica Lange is a desperate cabaret dancer who is willing to go to any extent to get audiences to come to her show. In her desperate attempt, Elsa forms a troupe of performers wherein every candidate suffers from a biological rarity. Her troupe receives strong opposition from the town folk and they even label the performers as freaks.

However, Elsa continues her efforts to popularize the troupe amidst the people of the town. A major part of the new series will be seen focusing on Sarah Paulson's role. Paulson is playing the character of Siamese sisters-Bette and Dot that are chosen as the headlining act of the Freak Show by Elsa. At the end of the show, Elsa is also seen confessing that she had always dreamt of becoming a star and formed this troupe in the anticipation to get more people to come and watch her singing. She also tearfully disrobes herself and reveals her paraplegic condition. 

Further episodes will introduce the audience to the three-breasted Desiree Dupree played by Angela Bassett, strong man Dell Toledo played by Michael Chiklis and fake fortune teller Maggie Esmeralda played by Emma Roberts.
