Stephen Collin's home in Tarzana, Calif was swarmed by officers on Tuesday evening after witnesses informed authorities that they heard a "distinct pop." 

Police urgently rushed to the 7th Heaven star's home in fear that someone might have used a gun or committed suicide.

However, on investigating further, police learned nobody including Collins was inside the home. NBC news also reported that LAPD was able to connect to the actor via Facetime to ensure he was free from danger.

The alarming situation comes as Collins is being investigated by the authorities following his alleged confession to molesting young girls on numerous occasions. In an audiotape obtained by TMZ the actor who is known for the role of Captain Will Decker in Star Trek: The Motion Picture is heard recalling  past events with his ex, a therapist and actress Faye Grant with whom he is in the midst of divorcing.  

In an exclusive statement given to E! News, Faye Grant, the actor's ex-wife also said that she had no involvement in the events that led to the release of the tape to the media said.

Additionally, a production source from upcoming American comedy Ted 2 also confirmed to E! News that the actor had been dropped from the movie following the allegations and uproar that it has caused. According to the information available to E! News, Collins has also resigned from his position on the National Board of the Screen Actors Guild. The statement given by Pamela Greenwalt Chief Communications and Marketing Officer confirmed this news.

The shocking turn of events comes as 67 year old actor Stephen Collins confessed to molesting young girls and has since then seen a major downturn in the progress of his career graph. In spite of repeated requests by E! News, no one from Collin's team came forth to comment on the situation.
