After the rumors and eventual confirmation of "Resident Evil Revelations 2," Capcom is wasting no time bolstering excitement for the game. This month's Game Informer magazine is dedicated to the "Resident Evil" franchise and as such, much focus is on the new game starring Claire Redfield and Moira Burton.

The latest news for "Resident Evil Revelations 2" is some awesome new gameplay footage that suggests the environment is similar to "Resident Evil Code: Veronica" and that the game will incorporate more modern stealth elements that were not included in the franchise previously.

Game Informer recently interviewed "Resident Evil Revelations 2" producer Michiteru Okabe, who commented on the reason behind the episodic release format:

"The main thing we wanted to achieve by going episodic with this is... We wanted people to not just play the game by themselves and enjoy it, we wanted to encourage them to take the story apart and really analyze things and talk amongst themselves. And talk about what would happen next."

Hopefully this will convince some of the fans who were originally skeptical about the episodic format of the merit of the game. For those other fans who are excited for the return of survival horror elements, Joystiq recently report that "Resident Evil Revelations 2" is similar to "Resident Evil Code: Veronica." Specifically, they state that "coming to in the dank detention, dirty like Resident Evil 5's shanty towns but with that classic Code Veronica industrial feel, she [Claire Redfield] moves quickly even before holding down the trigger run button."

In addition to this detail, Okabe also revealed in the interview with Game Informer that they purposely tried to please fans by returning to elements of the survival horror past and combining it with modern gameplay features. Specifically he stated that, "we've incorporated some new stealth elements," in attempt to add new features while not deviating too far from what "Resident Evil" fans are used to.

While no official "Resident Evil Revelations 2" release date has been set outside of sometime early next year, fans have plenty to be excited about based on the information that has become available about the upcoming episodic game.
