Neil Young New Album Release Date Announced; Tracklist Revealed

Folk rock legend Neil Young's new album "Storytone" has been given a release date.

The "Grandfather of Grunge" Neil Young's new album produced by The Volume Dealers is set to hit stores on December 19 and along with the announcement came the release of its tracklist, according to a report from Billboard.

The Al Schmitt recorded and mixed record includes tracks accompanied by an orchestra. The orchestra was conducted by Michael Bearden and Chris Walden.

In a previous interview, Young shared how he wanted to try a different approach to his latest studio effort and how he had always wanted to play with an orchestra. "I'd like to make a record with a full-blown orchestra, live - a mono recording with tone mic," Young said.

He added, "I want to do something like that where we really record what happened, with one point of view and the musicians moved closer and farther away, the way it was done in the past. To me that's a challenge and it's a sound that's unbelievable, and you can't get it any other way. So I'm into doing that."

Songs from the record will come in both solo versions and ones played with an orchestra.

Apart from being busy with his newest studio effort, Young also went on the road this year with Crazy Horse and on his own.

The 2-CD deluxe set of Neil Young's new album will include the following tracks:
