Waka Flocka Flame Arrested At Atlanta Airport For Gun Possession, Rapper Attempts To Travel With Handgun In Carry-On

It appears Waka Flocka Flame forgot to review the list of banned items on airplanes.

The 28-year-old rapper was reportedly arrested on Friday in Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport after security found a handgun in his carry-on suitcase.

According to MyFoxAtlanta.com, police responded to a call about a suspected weapon on Friday after the rapper, whose real name is Juaquin Malphurs, entered the Atlanta airport.

After the handgun was found in his carry-on, it was discovered that Malphurs did not have a permit to carry the item. The "No Hands" rapper was reportedly taken to Clayton County jail.

Malphurs was reportedly charged with carrying a weapon in a prohibited place.

Although Malphurs was born in Jamaica, Queens in NYC, the musician was raised in Atlanta and flies in and out of Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport while on tour.

Waka was recently featured in a collaboration with Diplo. The video for the single, "Techno," was released last week.

According to MTV News, the rap star's album "Flockaveli 2" is due out this winter.

"I've got Ty Dolla $ign on this, it's crazy. It's called "Your Boy." It's crazy, I got mad shit man," the rapper said in an interview with Hot New Hip Hop regarding the forthcoming album. "It's been done but I keep making records. The more we sit, the more good records and shit we'll be pilling up. We got to put this shit together."

Waka also announced that he would be releasing an EDM album, entitled "Turn Up God" in late 2014.

As for his arrest, it remains unclear if the music star has yet been released from jail. However, a post was made on his Twitter account. No, it did not make mention of the gun-toting incident. Instead, Waka Flocka Flame released a single called "Lifestyle Flockmix" on Soundcloud.
