Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett Will Ring In The New Year With Las Vegas Cheek To Cheek Show [VIDEO]

Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett are set to ring in the new year with a Las Vegas performance at The Cosmopolitan on December 31.

The newest singing duo of standards announced that they will perform their first show together in the U.S. since they released a joint album late last month. Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett's "Cheek to Cheek, debuted at No. 1 September 23 on the Billboard 200 chart. The album also made simultaneous number one hits on the Billboard Jazz Albums and Traditional Jazz Albums charts.

In a statement, Tony Bennett said "I can't think of anyone other than Lady Gaga that I would want to sing with more on New Year's Eve-I'm excited to swing in the New Year with 'Lady.'"

Lady Gaga added "I can't wait to kick off 2015 'cheek to cheek' with the legendary Mr. Tony Bennett ... New Year's celebrations are about cherishing family, friendship and the future-three things this man has taught me much about."

Gaga and Bennett spent two years locked in a recording studio for an album of jazz standards "Cheek to Cheek" that will be released Sept. 23. Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga first teamed up in 2011, when Gaga put her stamp on the songs "The Lady Is a Tramp" for Bennett's Duets II album.

Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga's Cheek To Cheek, debuted at no. 1 on the Billboard 200 Album and on the Jazz Album and Traditional Jazz Album Charts. Two tracks that came out before the album, the Cole Porter classic "Anything Goes", and the Jimmy McHugh and Dorothy Fields standard "I Can't Give You Anything But Love", both debuted at  number one on Billboard's Digital Jazz charts.

Cheek to Cheek was recorded in New York City. The record took over a year to complete. It features jazz musicians associated with both artists including members of Bennett's quartet: Mike Renzi, Gray Sargent, Harold Jones and Marshall Wood as well pianist Tom Ranier. Jazz trumpeter Brian Newman, a long-time friend and colleague of Lady Gaga appears on the album as well with his NYC-based jazz quintet. Jazz soloists on selected tracks include tenor saxophonist Joe Lovano, trumpeter George Rabbai and flutist Paul Horn, who passed away in July.

Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga will also give a special performance on Sunday, Feb. 8 at The Wiltern. The special post-Grammy performance celebrates their new collaborative jazz album Cheek To Cheek. The show begins at 9:30 p.m. and will feature both big band and orchestra.
