iPad Air 2 Release Date Is Next Week, Alleged Leaked Specs Include Touch ID Fingerprint Scanner Home Button, A8 Chip With 2GB RAM, Much Thinner Body

The iPad Air 2 release date is undeniably one of the most awaited press events of the year, especially for Apple and iOS fans. Last year, the Cupertino manufacturer shook the market when it unveiled the super thin iPad Air, to replace the 'regular' iPad lineup.

The device packs the same design as the iPad mini, which made the latter such a hit among consumers in the enterprise market.

This year, we don't expect any major design overhauls for the iPad, though in a new report, some of its alleged parts have been leaked.

According to a report by Phone Arena, leaker 9to5mac was able to get its hands on some alleged parts of the new Apple slate which includes the Touch ID fingerprint-scanner enabled home button, a new A8 chipset that is found in the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus devices as well, and a slightly thinner body.

In the report, the A8 will get double the amount of RAM present in last year's model, which is a welcome addition considering that the iPad Air 2 will allegedly be able of running a split screen multi-tasking feature.

In spite all of the commotion about new Apple devices, the Cupertino manufacturer has continously being slammed by consumers for including outdated and minimal specs to their supposedly premium devices.

While we won't see a QHD display, 3GB RAM or water certification for the iPad lineup, the 9.7-inch slate is gearing to be among the thinnest and most gorgeous tablets in the market today.

In a previous report, it looks like Apple is targetting the 'big' market to find out if the rumored iPad Pro is still good to go for early next year. The rumored device is said to pack an enormous 12.9-inch display, 2GB or 3GB RAM, and a keyboard dock that can make it an alternative to the MacBook Air 11-inch laptops.
