Paul Rodgers From Bad Company Hits Grammy Museum with Legendary Memphis Musicians to Celebrate `The Royal Session’

Paul Rodgers has kept some bad company in his time as a musician. Bad Company's founding singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist is going to sit in with Memphis session musicians to explore his R&B and soul roots.

Bad Company's Paul Rodgers will appear at The Grammy Museum on October 15 for a special celebration of his "The Royal Sessions" album. The record is a collection of classic R&B and soul songs that the iconic former Free singer recorded at the famous Memphis' Royal Studios.

The Memphis Royal Studio is where Willie Mitchell produced classic tracks for Hi Records. The new album was recorded with many of the musicians who played on the original tracks.

Paul Rodgers will be interviewed by Scott Goldman, Vice President of the Grammy Foundation and MusiCares, and will Reverend Charles Hodges (Hammond B-3), LeRoy Hodges, Jr (bass), Michael Toles (guitar), Archie "Hubby" Turner (Wurlitzer) and Steve Potts (drums) in the sold out event.

Royal Session live begins at 8pm.

The new album is lifetime in the making. Rodgers' "The Royal Sessions" celebrates the legendary hits that Rodgers collected on 45s released on Stax/Volt, Goldwax and Hi Records. Songs from such artists as Otis Redding, Albert King and Ann Peebles, which were so influential on Rodgers

The Royal Sessions was produced by Perry Margouleff. Paul is backed by a dream lineup.  The classic rhythm section includes Reverend Charles Hodges (Hammond B3), Michael Tolls (guitar), LeRoy Hodges Jr. (bass), "Hubby" Archie Turner (Wurlitzer), Steve Potts and James Robertson Sr. (drums), The Royal Horns and the Royal Singers. 

"The Royal Sessions" will be released on 429 Records in the U.S. on February 4.
