News from last week's annual New York Comic Con continues to pour in for those fans not lucky enough to attend. The latest news pertains to "Resident Evil Revelations 2" in which game producer Michiteru Okabe told fans that preordering the game for Playstation consoles will result in a special "Raid Mode." This news comes right on the heels of an announcement that the "Resident Evil" franchise will make the move toward the small screen as a TV show is currently in production.

Okabe Michiteru recently told Gamespot why Capcom decided to release "Resident Evil Revelations 2" in episodes.

"Why we want to do it this way: we know that disc and retail sales are important and will continue to be important, and that's kind of our bread and butter; we know how to do that. But, we also know that we're living in a world that is becoming more and more digital and there's a lot of ways to deliver digital content. We think episodic is an interesting way to do that, especially with a game whose story is structured this way."

Perhaps the more Okabe explains the reasons behind the episodic release, fans who were initially against the structure may begin to endorse it. Additionally, Capcom has added an incentive for Playstation users who pre-order "Resident Evil Revelations 2." According to Polygon, those gamers who pre-order the survival horror game for either PS4 or PS3 will get the "Raid Mode Throwback Pack" for free. It will feature stages from previous but more recent "Resident Evil" titles playable in Raid mode.

The final news for fans of the "Resident Evil" franchise is that Constantin Film is reportedly developing a "Resident Evil" TV show alongside a "Mortal Instruments" TV show. There's little about what the plot might be or who will star, but it is officially confirmed by Constantin executive board chairman Martin Moszkowicz, according to Variety.

While the official release date for "Resident Evil Revelations 2" has yet to surface, fans should expect the game sometime early 2015.
