‘Attack On Titan’ Season 2 Release Date: April, August, September, October 2015?

Earlier this year, shortly after "Attack on Titan" creator Hajime Isayama suddenly disappeared from social media to work on highly anticipated manga volumes 15 and 16, news sites began to speculate as to when season two of the anime might air.

The result has been a largely inconclusive prediction that the titans and the scouts who fight them won't be returning to TV at least until 2015.

At the beginning of this year, Rocket News 24 released an interview with Wit Studio executive Joji Wada in which he talked about the future projects they had slated for the year.

"Eventually, we definitely want to do a sequel. This year, though, we've got our hands full producing an anime that will be bundled in a limited edition of the 'Attack on Titan' manga, which tells a different sort of story than what we did in the TV series," said Wada.

More than likely Wada was talking about "Attack on Titan: No Regrets," which is a special Captain Levi origins spin off series that will be packaged with Volumes 15 and 16 of the manga. According to Anime News Network, both of those volumes will be released on December 9th and April 9th, 2015 respectively. Despite a typo in an earlier article we posted about the most recent rumors circulating regarding the release date of each of those manga volumes, this is all that has been confirmed across platforms.

Yesterday, Hallels reports that "Attack on Titan" season two will sail in April of 2015. No other sources have confirmed this date, nor what it might mean. It would seem that Wit Studio could potentially, if they rushed through final drafts of the manga volumes from Isayama, have a season two ready to air.

But it also seems unlikely given that Wit Studios is fresh off of "Attack on Titan: No Regrets." Some other dates that have been mentioned across various publications are August, September, and October of 2015, based on the premise that the animation studio will want to premier "Attack on Titan" season two at the same time season one aired originally.

Unfortunately, perhaps nothing will be known for sure until after "Attack on Titan" volume 15 is released in Japan. It would seem that Wit Studio would have every reason to update fans on their progress by then, especially with Isayama's intentions to continue the series for two to three more years. But with no official word on "Attack on Titan" season two, all fans can really hope is that nothing happens to put the series on hiatus.
