"The Originals" season 2 cast Phoebe Tonkin reveals that her character Hayley is trying to find her place in the world as co-star Daniel Gillies claimed that he's proud of Elijah.

In an interview with E! News, "The Originals" season 2 cast Phoebe Tonkin said that Elijah (Daniel Gillies) represented normalcy and rationality, which is exactly the opposite of what she's feeling right now.

"Hayley's put up a bit of a wall and isn't allowing Elijah to get past that. Both of them are dealing with the situation very differently-Hayley's being destructive and Elijah is being logical and she doesn't like that," she said.

According to her, Hayley wants everybody to be as pissed off and as vengeful as her and when she finds Elijah so calm on the surface, she gets angry some more.

"Also I think she's terrified of being hurt again and doesn't want to show who she really is to him now that she's a hybrid. It's a tragic love story right now. They're both putting up walls and are being defensive," explained "The Originals" season 2 cast Phoebe Tonkin.

Daniel Gillies explained further to E! that the relationship between Hayley and Elijah has entered a very rocky patch but it's not exactly cooling off.

"Relationships require work, and sometimes they require space and time and healing. If it is cooling right now I suspect it will heat up again and then cool and then heat up like a parabola, that mathematical graph," he said. They dip and they travel up, and ultimately the graph is traveling up and they're making an ascent overall."

But he is still hopeful about the relationship between Hayley and Elijah. "I think they're a sweet, dysfunctional, mismatched twosome who found each other in the storm and I love that about their love," Daniel Gillies said.

The Wet Paint  said that Klaus and Elijah's parents, Mikael (Sebastian Roche) and Esther (Alice Evans), are back and causing havoc in the French Quarter.

"Hopefully Klaus and Elijah can band together as brothers and take down their crazy parents and regain power over the place they once called home," it said.
