Zac Galifianakis Dramatic Weight Loss A Far Cry From His 'The Hangover' Self; 'Birdman' Actor Slams Being A Celebrity

Zac Galifianakis' dramatic weight loss was evident during the "Birdman" premiere at the Lincoln Center in New York, as the standup comic slammed the way Hollywood try to peddle celebrity as the biggest thing there is.

Side-by-side photos from MailOnline shows a bit of a difference in bulk between the Hollywood Gala in 2010 and the "Birdman" premiere last Saturday.

In an interview with E! News, which noted Zac Galifianakis' dramatic weight loss, the "Birdman" actor quipped, "I'm dying."

He also said that his suit size is now down to "ladies [size] 50."

But there's a reason to Zac Galifianakis' weight loss as he revealed to Conan O'Brian last year, said E!

"I stopped drinking and I just kind of put the weight off...I was having a lot of vodka with sausage...delicious but bad for you," he said. "I was getting into too much trouble with the drinking, so I just kind of stopped."

Meanwhile, Zac Galifianakis talked to The Hollywood Reporter about the perils of celebrity and how Hollywood is trying to oversell itself.

"It's confusing to me - all of this is confusing to me. They oversell it like we're curing cancer, you know what I mean? I just think it can be gross sometimes, the way Hollywood congratulates itself all the time," he said during the NY Festival at the Lincoln Center.

"It's gotten a little out of hand - there's no culture in it. If people were writing about poets, mathematicians and all that, that would just move us forward quicker," he added.

However, Zac Galifianakis was quick to say that he loves to be an actor but fame can easily be perverted.

"I think celebrity is a manmade thing; it's not innate in us. We have people telling us, 'We should pay attention to these people,' for all the wrong reasons, their personal lives and whatnot. ... I'd rather just do my work and go home and watch Lifetime," he said.
