Prometheus 2 Plot Rumors: Director Ridley Scott's Sequel Coming Back 'With Something More Interesting;' Movie Release Date Still Uncertain?

"Prometheus 2" plot rumors hint of "something more interesting" for the sequel as the movie release date is still uncertain.

Director Ridley Scott weighed in on "Prometheus 2" plot rumors to Yahoo Movies as he said that there's no alien Xenomorphs, designed by HR Giger, that will appear on the sequel.

"The beast is done. Cooked. I got lucky meeting Giger all those years ago. It's very hard to repeat that. I just happen to be the one who forced it through because they said it's obscene. They didn't want to do it and I said, 'I want to do it, it's fantastic,'" he said.

However, he said the novelty has worn out a little bit so they have to find another ingredient to make it a new experience for the audience.

"There's only so much snarling you can do. I think you've got to come back with something more interesting. And I think we've found the next step. I thought the Engineers were quite a good start," he said.

According to The Guardian, the "Prometheus 2" plot rumors will tie up the film to the classic 1979 film "Alien" starring Sigourney Weaver.

"It featured what many took to be a biological predecessor of xenomorphs, christened the "deacon" by Scott, which was also revealed to have human DNA," the article noted.

Meanwhile, the release date for the film are as elusive as the "Prometheus 2" plot rumors. As of last update, director Ridley Scott said that the script has already underwent 15 drafts and he's quite happy with the latest copy, but it's not final yet.

Damon Lindelof, "Prometheus" co-screenwriter, said that the sequel is moving along quite smoothly, according a report.

He also said that that since Ridley Scott is busy with other projects (he's got "Exodus" and "The Martian" lined up), the "Prometheus 2" release date won't happen until 2015 at the earliest.
