Amy Poehler's Book Touches On Comedian's Past Experience With Cocaine, Ecstasy, Marijuana; Parks And Recreations Actress Opens About Split

In Amy Poehler's book "Yes Please," the "Parks and Recreation" actress dished on a lot of things we did not know about - from her relationships to her past experience in doing drugs.

A chapter on Amy Poehler's book entitled "Obligatory Drug Stories" recounts the comedian's experimentation with illegal substances when she was younger. "I tried cocaine, which I instantly loved but eventually hated," Poehler shared. "Cocaine is terrific if you want to hang out with people you don't know very well and play Ping-Pong all night. It's bad for almost everything else... The day after cocaine is rough."

Apart from cocaine, Poehler also experimented with Ecstasy. "I remember a wonderful UCB [Upright Citizens Brigade] New Year's Eve party where we all danced and drank water and loved each other," the comedian said. "I also remember the next day when I thought I had no friends and I was so sad I wanted to sink into the carpet and permanently live there."

While the actress said she stopped taking cocaine and Ecstasy, she did admit to still smoking marijuana occasionaly but not very often. "I can't perform, drive or write stoned, and therefore I smoke pot a lot less than I used to," Poehler said.

Apart from drugs, the Golden Globe winner also opened up about relationships, particularly her marriage and divorce with actor Will Arnett. The couple divorced in 2012 and the actress has kept mum about their break-up until she opened up about it on the book. "Imagine spreading everything you care about on a blanket and then tossing the whole thing up in the air," she said about the divorce. "The process of divorce is about loading up that blanket, throwing it up, watching it all spin, and worrying what stuff will break when it lands."

Amy Poehler's book also reveals a few details about her current relationship with comedian Nick Kroll. "Yes Please" will be out in stores on October 28.
