Fans of Kate Beckinsale and her position as the protagonist of the original "Underworld" movies will be happy to know that the vampire actress may not be completely done with "Underworld" yet.

At last weekend's New York Comic Con, director and writer Len Wiseman confirmed that there is currently a separate "Underworld" film in development that will follow Seline, aside from the Theo James "Underworld" reboot. Additionally, Wiseman also added that an "Underworld" TV show is in development.

Wisemen, who is also married to Kate Beckinsale, broke the news about all the upcoming "Underworld" projects to IGN (via Slash Film).

"There's some characters that we really like that [will be in] more of a spinoff of some of the characters, like we did with ‘Rise of the Lycans'. And then another film is also being developed in the works with Kate possibly as well," said Wiseman in the interview.

Wiseman, who has worked as a writer on pretty much every installment of the "Underworld" franchise, also mentioned a TV series being in development.

"Then there's a television series as well. So it's all kind of expanding that universe in many ways," he added.

According to Screen Rant, Wiseman had little idea of which project to expect first, but they did speculate that after "Underworld: Awakening," there is little reason to not use that film as setup for a few more films starring Beckinsale. They also add that, "as Rise of the Lycans showed, the Underworld franchise has yet to prove that it's a world that moviegoers are equally interested in visiting when Beckinsale's Selene is not (actively) involved as when she's leading the charge."

While Len Wiseman may have his hands full with his recent work on Fox supernatural TV series "Sleepy Hollow," perhaps it has made him even more fit to help the "Underworld" TV show through the development process. All in all, "Underworld" fans will likely be seeing something from the franchise very soon.
