Alicia Keys Holds Protest At Nigerian Consulate On #BringBackOurGirlsNow

The pregnant singer Alicia Keys holds protest along with other small group protesters outside the Nigerian consulate in New York on Tuesday.

In the report of AFP, the 33-year-old Grammy award winner RnB singer and songwriter Alicia Keys hold protest to demand of releasing the 219 Chibok girls that were kidnapped by Boko Haram militants last April.

According to the report of the Daily Mail, Alicia and other protester chanted "When do we want them?! Now! Now! Now! Alive" outside the consulate doors.

"Today is my son's birthday, so I stand in solidarity with the mother of the Chibok girls who have been abducted for six months and are still missing," Alicia Keys said in the report of the AFP.

The singer who is expecting for her second child in December was holding a sign board, which says "#BringBackOurGirlsNow."

Furthermore, according to the report of the AFP, Alicia Keys who recently hosted the movement called "We Are Here" which is a cause to fight social justice, asserted the importance of girls.

"These girls represent so much. They represent girls who are kept from education, they represent girls who are treated as property, they represent girls who are raped and have to live in violence as a weapon of war," she said on AFP.

"I had not realized it was already six months. How is it possible? We can find terrorists, but we cannot find 200 girls?" she added.

Alicia Keys also posted a tweet on her Twitter account of the said cause.
