Channing Tatum ‘Gambit’ Movie Part Of A Trilogy? ‘First One’ Will Not Show Remy LeBeau Saving The World! ‘Ragin Cajun’ Will Have Different Origin

The 'Gambit' Movie which will star Channing Tatum will not be a mere X-Men spinoff. The Hollywood A-lister reveals that there might be more than one movie slated!

The short interlude was from MTV movies for Tatum's animated feature "The Book of Life." He then reveals that there might be more than just one movie slated for the character. Transcribed by Comicbook.com:

"I don't want to give too much away because we don't know that much right now other than we obviously know who Gambit is. We really do want to try our hardest to give something fresh. We're obviously going to go to the saving the world superhero movies eventually, but maybe not for the first one."

The mention of "the first one" gives the implication that there will be more than just one movie in the saga of Remy LeBeau. However, Tatum did not elaborate on whether the other films will show Gambit as part of the X-Men, or maybe another team.

The "Magic Mike XXL" star also hinted that they will not follow the canonical origin (the origin in the comic books) to the letter. This is something Fox has been very liberal with and it's not surprising that they will exercise that privilege on Gambit.

Tatum continues: "We kind of want to introduce this character in a very different way. When you try to do something different, you never really know right off the bat what that is. We're feeling our way into it. And really just have got to prove that concept of that person."

The first Gambit solo movie may feature his origin-which is already film-worthy in itself. Marvel.com's narration:

"Remy LeBeau was kidnapped from his hospital ward by members of the New Orleans Thieves' Guild who referred to the child as 'le diable blanc' - the white devil. They believed he was the child that had been prophesied to unite the warring Guilds. Soon after, Remy was placed in the care of a gang of street thieves who raised the child and taught him the ways of thievery."

Not a bad start, and the saga of the Thieves Guild and the Assassins' Guild is worth watching. Let's see how much they change from that plotline.
