‘The Flash’ Movie 2018 Casts Ezra Miller As Fastest Man Alive! Former Star Of ‘The Perks Of Being A Wallflower’ To Portray A ‘Darker’ Flash?

The comic movie world was rocked with Warner Brothers' announcements. One of them involved a solo movie for "The Flash" contrary to previous rumors that it will be a Flash and Green Lantern team up. Green Lantern will also have his own solo movie.

However, "The Flash" movie lives up to its name, and gets a step ahead of Green Lantern with a casting announcement. Ezra Miller has been named to take on the red suit of the Fastest Man Alive.

The report came from Slashfilm:

"The news came as part of a major investors event Wednesday morning." It named all the movies for the release date that Warner Brothers had booked until 2020.

"A 2018 release does two things for The Flash. It puts a lot of distance between the film and the TV show, which already has a huge audience, and it gives plenty of time to set up this larger DC world."

It has been repeatedly stated that the CW TV series is not in the same universe that the movies are trying to establish. This news squashes all the stubborn speculation.

"As for Miller, he's a pretty interesting choice to play Barry Allen (or Wally West or whichever version makes it to the big screen). The actor is known for much smaller, darker roles. He's the bad boy or the outcast. He's also insanely talented and with three years until we see him in the role (he'll likely show up in Justice League, right?) it's pretty likely we'll grow to see him in a more heroic, wise cracking way."

Zach Snyder has been making the entire DC Universe 'darker.' Will Ezra Miller show that in the movie?

"The Flash" release date is slated on March 23, 2018. It will share that year with the "Aquaman" movie which is finally confirmed to be played by Jason Momoa.
