Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Review, Update: Android 4.4.4 KitKat Update For Much Loved Phablet Maybe Avail. This November; 2014 Variant Still Coming? [RUMORS]

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 review, update: The much love Android phablet, Samsung Galaxy Note 2, which continues to maintain a huge fan base maybe getting an Android 4.4.4 KitKat update this November, Android Geeks reports.

The site said that, “a roadmap detailing the future Android 4.4.4 KitKat update roll out for multiple Samsung Galaxy devices has been leaked and it notes that the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 International and LTE variants will receive the latest KitKat firmware by the end of November 2014.”

This upcoming 4.4.4 KitKat update may put an end to earlier speculations that a 2014 variation of the device maybe coming. Earlier forum postings have suggested that Samsung may have a 2014 update to the Note 2 with a physical model, but with the pending arrival of an OS update, the rumor maybe put to rest.

Android Geeks added that the Android 4.4.4 KitKat for the phablet maybe a small update and may only add some security patches and bug fixes. The site also cautioned that news on the update has come from forum posting only (like the 2014 variant) and must be taken with a grain of salt.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has a 5.5 Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels and a pixel density of 267 ppi. Although the Note 2 doesn’t match the power of the S4 and S5’s display, Samsung has kept its trademark bright and colorful screen that many of its users have come to love.

One thing that has always made users fall in love with the unit is the battery. One look and we can immediately tell that the Note 2’s battery is huge; in fact, we are talking about a 3100 mAh battery strapped behind the device. Based on the earlier comment by a KpopStarz commenter, the unit can last up to 42 hours.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2, though an ancient device by tech standards, is seemingly built to last in terms of appeal. It’s not a disposable or replaceable handset whose function is compromised by the shiniest successor available.
