T.J. Miller Reveals That His Marriage Proposal To Kate Gorney ‘Hurt So Much,’ ‘Silicon Valley’ Actor Recalls Painfully Popping The Question

They say love hurts.

"Silicon Valley" star T.J. Miller revealed on "Conan" that he experienced just that. The actor told host Conan O'Brien about proposing to his fiancée Kate Gorney and explained that the event was more than a little uncomfortable.

According to Miller, getting engaged "hurt so much!"

During the interview, Miller revealed that the funky socks he was wearing were given to him by his wife.

"Well," he then explained. "I call her my wife because I don't know how to pronounce...[fiancé]."

The comedian subsequently tried and failed to correctly pronounce the word fiancée, while O'Brien playfully mocked him.

Miller, who became engaged to Gorney earlier this year, revealed that he popped the question to his ladylove at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.

"Because she is a work of art," the actor mused, pausing for the audience to applaud over the sweet remark.

"What they don't tell you," he continued, "is that when you get down on your knee to propose, just don't do it so quickly. I went down fast, and it really hurt my knee."

Miller explained that he proposed to Gorney under a rock art piece in the museum and slammed his knee into the concrete floor below.

"I was between a rock and a hard place!" he joked, sarcastically of course.

"I went down fast," he told O'Brien of getting down on one knee, "and I went down hard, and it hurt so much...You have to hide that because it's a really romantic moment."

"But I got through it, and she said yes, which was really exciting," he said, adding, "Well, she didn't say yes, she said, 'Well, OK.' But, we're really, really excited."

Now it seems that Miller and his fiancée have their minds on a wedding and marriage, as well as a long future ahead.

"As soon as you get engaged, the next thing is, everyone says well when's the wedding date?" explained the actor. "After that, everyone's dying to know when children are coming into the picture."

"And once you have kids," Miller couldn't help but add, "they say it's all downhill from here on out!"
