Last October 10, followers were shocked upon reading Amanda Bynes' tweets about her father. Such tweets accused Rick Bynes of sexually abusing the former Nickelodeon star. While the actress later deleted her accusations and blamed a certain microchip for such posts, TMZ reported that she was placed on a 5150 psychiatric hold which lasted for 72 hours.

Following Amanda Bynes' tweets, her mother aired the family's side through their attorney Tamar Arminak.

"I am heartbroken today for my husband of 47 years. Rick has been the best father and husband a family can ask for. He has never abused Amanda or our other children physically or sexually," started the statement.

"These accusations are absolutely horrible and could not be further from the truth! These allegations stem from Amanda's mental state at the moment. They have no basis in reality. It saddens me beyond belief that my husband's character could be slandered in such a way," added the family matriarch.

Even the siblings of the "Easy A" star went out of their ways to defend their father. Through TMZ, Tommy Bynes and Jillian O'Keefe expressed their pain.

"We are disturbed beyond words that Amanda would come up with such a fabrication as a way to avoid getting much needed help or treatment ... We are pained by [Amanda's] behaviour but we absolutely give our full unconditional love and support to our wonderful parents," they said.

The "Sydney White" actress was admitted to a Los Angeles hospital on Friday after exhibiting worrying behavior. She was placed under the 5150 involuntary hold after being asked by her parents to attend a seemingly harmless meeting.

One source tells TMZ that Bynes felt "betrayed" after her parents tricked her: "Amanda feels utterly betrayed and says her relationship with her parents is destroyed forever." Her parents, on the other hand, are still reportedly determined to provide help for their daughter.
