Joshua Jackson and Diane Kruger have been together since 2006 but have yet to say 'I do.'

According to Jackson, however, tying the knot or not doesn't dictate the strength of their relationship.

"I can tell you why we're not married: We're not religious," Jackson explained in the November 2014 issue of Glamour. "I don't feel any more or less committed to Diane for not having stood in front of a priest and had a giant party. We're both children of divorce, so it's hard for me to take marriage at face value as the thing that shows you've grown up and are committed to another person."

The 36-year-old star of "The Affair" admitted, however, that there is still a chance wedding bells could be in the couple's future.

"It may change at some point. We may get married," he confessed.

The "Dawson's Creek" alum shared those same sentiments in a 2012 interview with E! News. "It's important for the people that it's important for, but neither one of us are particularly religious, so I don't think that there's any particular push," Jackson said at the time. "But never say never."

While Jackson revealed that he and his ladylove are both products of divorced parents, Kruger has experienced divorce first hand.

The actress 38-year-old actress ended her marriage to her former husband, French actor/director Guillaume Canet, in 2006 after five years as husband and wife.

"Without sounding pessimistic, I learned that I don't believe in marriage," Kruger told Glamour in March 2011. "I believe in a commitment that you make in your heart. There's no paper that will make you stay."

The actress, who currently stars in FX's "The Bridge," also told Marie Claire in August 2013 that she and Jackson know what their union means to them.

"I'm grateful that I met a person who feels the same not just about me but also about our relationship," she explained.
