Anne Hathaway Reveals Embarrassing Experience With Interstellar Co-star Matthew Macconaughey As He Receives Tribute From American Cinemathique; Actor Is The New Paul Newman?

With just a few weeks away of Christopher Nolan's blockbuster "Interstellar's" release date, more and more buzz about the movie including the cast and crew's experiences and forged friendships along the filming of the movie. One of these is Anne Hathaway's embarrassing story with co-star and Matthew Macconaughey, as she delivers tribute to the actor in the American Cinemathique at Beverly Hilton on Wednesday.

"I have a story and it's kind of embarrassing," the award-winning actress started telling her story.

She then told the audience that Macconaughey invited her and husband Adam Shulman for a party and they went to his LA home as instructed.

The Les Mesirables actress was then surprised when the actor's parking lot looks deserted without cars and people waiting.

"My husband and I drive up. It's a Sunday. It's a beautiful day. There are no cars around and we thought, 'OK, we're on time. We're on time for once.' Matthew goes, 'Yeah, you gotta come in.  Matthew turns around, again [with] a smile and goes, 'The party was last night,"' Anne said.

The Devil Wears Prada star continued her story saying that the Magic Mike actor has received them warmly further concluding that he is a cool and very down to earth.

"That glass of wine lead to the first bottle. I stopped counting after four and then I went with you to someone's surprise birthday party that night...You were so good to me and Adam."

"I don't know what to expect but I meet you and you are present. You seem so cool and you seem so sincere and I walk away and I think, Wow, that guy's just amazing," she further said.

Dubbed as 'the new Paul Newman" by no other than Interstellar's director, Christopher Nolan, Matthew Macconaughey has received a nod from the critics of the  American Cinemathique for his recent "McConaissance", his impressive achievements in the film industry.

"I've never worked with an actor who is so relentless in his pursuit of the truth in everything he does.. He's a performer who's never taken his relationship with his audience for granted, he's always understood his responsibility not just as a great actor, but as a movie star, to take the audience with him, to be the emotional conduit for the audience, to take them wherever that character needs to go," director Christopher Nolan said while giving the award to the actor.
