'The Wolf Of Wall Street' Star Leonardo DiCaprio Declined 'Steve Jobs' Movie Offer; Fans Think Oscar Drought Of Actor Would Continue

"The Wolf of Wall Street" star Leonardo DiCaprio could have ended his Oscar drought had he chosen to pursue Sony's "Steve Jobs" biopic movie?

It has been previously reported that the ever so elusive award would have been bagged by the 29-year-old star because of the planned biopic for the late Apple executive.

However, DiCaprio reportedly dropped out from the movie according to Hollywood Reporter, that doesn't mean that he will never receive the much coveted awards though.

According to the sources of the entertainment publication, DiCaprio first planned to work on the untitled biopic following the shooting of "The Revenant," which started already, but decided to change his plans and instead take a hiatus from acting.

Pedigree screenwriter Aaron Sorkin, who talked with Business Insider's Jon Favreau during the Tribeca Film Festival, pens Steve Jobs movie.

Although he remained tight-lipped about the upcoming film, Sorkin did manage to give out a hint about what audiences could expect.

"it's not a biopic," he revealed.

"It's not the story of Steve Jobs - it's something much different than that," Sorkin added.

"He's a fascinating guy - part hero, part antihero," Sorkin says of the former Apple CEO. "I don't want to say that much tonight. I don't want to make any news or make anyone feel like I approached the movie in a different way. I'm going to make the movie speak for itself. But he's a fascinating guy surrounded by fascinating people, and he had very interesting relationships with the people in his life."

In other news, Leonardo DiCaprio is also set out to work in a new movie, this time teaming up once more with his "The Wolf Of Wall Street" co-star Jonah Hill in Vanity Fair's movie adaptation of "The Ballad of Richard Jewell."

However, DiCaprio will play a supporting role in this film whereas Hill will be playing the titular role of Richard Jewell and his story about the Atlanta Olympics bombing.

What do you think about Leonardo DiCaprio's decision in withdrawing from Sony's Steve Jobs biopic? Would this cause him his first ever Oscar? Sound off in the comments section below.
