Despite the show's fame, "The Vampire Diaries" cast Paul Wesley admits that he's still not used to the reactions of fans. Since the show's launch in 2009, Wesley has been playing the role of Stefan Salvatore,one of the show's three lead characters.

 "It's funny how 'The Vampire Diaries' specifically hit this sort of cultural zeitgeist," said Phoebe Tonkin's boyfriend to Tri-Town News. "It really hit the sort of pop culture thing right on the head... and now it's all over the world. The show is huge in so many countries, in China and Brazil - and it's crazy. I don't think a day goes by where I think, 'OK, now I've assimilated into this, and it's normal.'"

However, even if Stefan Salvatore's days are not numbered, it cannot be the same for the hit CW series. The 32-year-old acknowledged that the show might end after seven seasons.

"I definitely think the show has another year in it. Past that, I don't know - I'm not sure. I don't know if the storylines work. I don't know if anyone's going to be around. It's such a hard thing to say, but I think the show has another year in it," he said.

Previously, it has been reported that one of the three lead characters did not sign a contract yet for the seventh season. While Wesley appears to be dropping hints about his possible departure, some are likewise wondering if Ian Somerhalder will take a break from his filming career to focus on his foundation.

"The Vampire Diaries" cast Paul Wesley also opened up about his fascination for cable television. Once his supernatural series ends, he looks forward to having a character on a cable television show.

Wesley thanks his parents for supporting his dreams by taking him to acting classes when he was little.

"They used to take me to the city and put me in acting classes. They really pushed for me because they I knew I wanted to do it, and there is just no way I would be where I am today without them - and I am very aware of that," he told the publication.
