Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger's love story might end in split if the "Hello Kitty" singer won't heed her friends' advice to work things out.

A new report from E! News hinted that Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger's love story ending in split could be imminent since they haven't really threshed out their issues after just more than a year of marriage.

A source told the website that things between the "Hello Kitty' singer and the Nickelback frontman "still aren't good."

"But Avril's friends are encouraging her to try and work it out. They don't like Chad, but she's already been through one painful divorce and they don't want to see her going through another unless there's no other option," it said. "Also, she and Chad haven't been married that long so her friends want her to make sure she's given it every chance before pulling the plug."

Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger's love story details that they decided to take the plunge in August 2012 just one month after dating, although their wedding wouldn't take place until July 1, 2013 in the south of France.

According to multiple news reports, Avril Lavigne celebrated her 30th birthday last month without Chad Kroeger, who himself was photographed outside the Bar Marmont in Hollywood without his wedding ring.

An article from Us Weekly claimed that Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger's split is a done deal after talking to multiple sources who confirmed that the marriage is not as smooth sailing as the couple would like most people to believe.

"It's over. He has been going around L.A. telling people that they are divorcing," one insider told the magazine.

But according to E! there's still something that could prevent an Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger split and that is a baby.

"Motherhood is something she really wants for herself. So this thing with Chad, it's going to go one of two ways. Either they're going to get rid of each other or there's a shot they might try to have a baby to save the marriage," the source added.
