Static X Vocalist Wayne Richard Wells Passed Away At 48; Death Mourned By Rockstars And Fans

Static X front man Wayne 'Static' Richard Wells is proclaimed dead at the age of 48 on Saturday. The said news is announced by Morgan Renken, a representative of the band for fifteen years, who refused to keep the singer's privacy and refuse to give further details, the Huffington Post said.

Renken has also mentioned that the heavy metal artist is about to start his month-long tour in the US on Monday. Other plans to tour around Russia and England are revealed.

A corresponding announcement on the band's Facebook fan site also talk about the lead man's passing.

"Platinum selling musician Wayne Richard Wells, better known as WAYNE STATIC, passed away at the age of 48. WAYNE STATIC was the enigmatic former frontman and namesake of Static-X, who later forged a successful solo career. Wayne was scheduled to co-headline tours with Powerman 5000 and Drowning Pool over the next several months. No additional information is available at this time," the message said as reported by E! Online.

A native of Muskegon, Michigan, Wayne is one of the founders of the band which started in 1994 and had their first album, Wisconsin Death Trip in 1999. Their fame had reach higher heights with the release of their second album in 2001 "Machine" that had reached to the 11th spot in the Billboards.

Rockstars and Wayne's fans alike expressed their sympathies with the rocker's death.

In Ozzy Osbourne's Twitter, he posted:  "Very sad to hear of @IAmWayneStatic's passing. Spent a lot of time together on @TheOzzfest tours. A tragic loss. Love to his family/friends."

Smashing Pumpkin's vocalist Billy Corgan also expressed his sadness over his friend's death saying,  "I am shocked to hear that Wayne Wells (Wayne Static) has passed away.  I played with him in his first band, Deep Blue Dream, in 1987/88."

Fans also shared their sad messages on E! Online.

"Love ya Brother...Life is Not always Fair...Gone way too Soon...Since you are a Michigan Man and I Personally know You...Words cannot express my feelings...God Speed...The Ozzman will forever be there \m/," a user said.

"i am sadden to hear this news i was a big fan of Static X and even when Wayne went Solo i had the pleasure of meeting Wayne with Static X back in 2012 at 95.1 Will Rock Fest in Milwaukee WI it was the best day of my life i got a photo with the band and even asked Wayne for a hug and he gladly accepted he may look like a bad *** rocker but he had a huge heart :( i am so sad he is gone taken to soon from us) RIP Wayne i will always love you <3," another fan wrote.

Though, E! Online has speculated that Wayne Static's death could be related to drug addiction, yet official announcement is yet to be released. Further, Morgan Renken did not elaborate details as to where Wayne's body is at the moment.
