Aaron Carter might be considered gallant for expressing his affections for Hilary Duff eleven years after their split. However, the 27-year-old actress says she has already moved on and Carter must do the same.

In an interview with Elle Canada, the "Lizzie McGuire" actress admits to feeling uncomfortable when asked about Carter: "Oh, God, I feel so uncomfortable right now. I don't know what to say. The more I talk about it, the more I think he's going to talk about it. We were like 13 and 14.... I don't want him to be hurt-I don't want to make anyone feel like that-but it's time to move on. I have."

The "Chasing the Sun" songstress also talked about young love:"What's funny, though, is that those feelings-I'm not talking about him but young love in general-feel so real. You always kind of think about it. When you're dating, you can never quite get that excitement again, because you're never that age again."
In March, Carter retweeted a photo of Duff. He wrote that he'd spend the rest of his life trying to win Duff.
"Don't be that stupid douche that loses the love of your life forever.. Like me...," also wrote the "I'm All about You" singer.
Carter clarified that he wouldn't get in the way of Duff and her husband Mike Comrie. He told WENN: "She's got a kid and she's married and I'm not trying to be that dude. That's not my intention. Hilary will always hold a very special place in my heart."

Duff and Comrie married in August 2010 but separated after two years. The two will continue to co-parent their son, Luca. In the same interview with Elle, the "Cadet Kelly" actress said that the media attention she got after the separation "felt so invasive and insensitive."

Nonetheless, she admits to getting "a bit desensitized." Duff also realized that the best way to deal with the spotlight is to just accept that she's human and that no one's perfect.
