Fox Executive Gavin Smith's Body Found After Two Years Police Haunt; Victim Said To Be Murdered Inside His Car

Fox film studio executive Gavin Smith's body is finally found after more than two years that it has gone missing since May 2012 in Southern California, CNN reports. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department led by Lt. Dave Dolson reaffirms that the cause of Smith's death is murder and that the victim was killed inside his car.

"We have witnesses that are paramount to the case. There was evidence in the car that indicated he was killed in the car, Lt. Dolson said in an interview.

Dolson, however, has not confirmed how Smith was killed but only said, "There's indications that there was some trauma."

Police reports released on Thursday morning said that the film executive is  last seen at a friend's residence in Ventura County, north of Los Angeles on Tuesday, May 1, 2012, between 9:00 and 10:00 p.m  with no further lead as to where the victim is going or what he did that time. Reports from E! Online further said that the victim should have picked up his kids from school but was never seen by his wife and family after that.

It was on February last year that former UCLA basketball player's car, a black Mercedes, was found in a storage facility.

Last week, on October 26, 2014, hikers found Smith's body in a rural area in Palmdale. Autopsy reports and reports from the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office have confirmed that, indeed it is Smith's body.

Dolson said that they have found more evidences this year and witnesses that may help them give a clearer picture explaining the victim's death.

"It's a crucial piece of evidence. Because of the discovery of Gavin's remains, there's potentially a lot more evidence for us to process," Dolson said.

The recent police investigations revealed that Smith's car was inside a facility rented by John Creech, currently imprisoned for narcotics.

John Creech is said to be the husband of Chandrika Creech, a woman whom Gavin Smith had an affair with in 2012.
