Harry Styles On Taylor Swift’s New Music: ‘They’re Good Songs. So I’m Lucky In That Sense’ Says One Direction Star

By now most of the world knows that Taylor Swift's new album "1989" has quite a few songs about Harry Styles.

In a recent interview, the One Direction heartthrob discussed Swift's songwriting and revealed what he really thinks of the record-breaking album.

"I think we always say, when we wrote the album, that we write from personal experiences, so it would be hypocritical of us to be like 'Oh you can't write a song...,'" 20-year-old Styles told One Direction's music video director Ben Winston in the Google Hangout interview.

Styles also complimented his ex's songwriting skills, admitting that he's heard Swift's new album, which includes a catchy up-tempo track called "Style."

"She's really good at it so...they're good songs. So I'm lucky in that sense," said the singer.

In random news, it seems Styles may have unintentionally inspired another classic Taylor Swift moment. After the One Direction crooner posted a link to a goofy 80's jazzercise video on his Twitter account last week, a fan got a hold of it and refitted the hilarious video to Swift's hit single "Shake It Off." The result was YouTube gold.

Swift even posted about the perfectly revamped video on her Twitter page.

"A sneak peak at the official "Shake It Off" choreography for the 1989 World Tour," the songstress captioned the vid.

As for writing about exes in music, Swift addressed the issue during a recent interview with Good Morning America.

"You have more and more people paying attention to what you're doing and you've been doing it the same way your entire career as a songwriter..." said 24-year-old Swift.

"They use kind of you writing songs about your life as a way to play detective, and, for me, I have a really strict personal policy that I never name names, so anybody saying that a song is about a specific person is purely speculating," she added.

Swift, who sold approximately 1.3 million copies of "1989" in the first week of its release, also told the ABC morning show that there is a sexist double standard when it comes to the way the media portrays her songwriting.

"You're going to have people who are gonna say, 'Oh you know, like she just writes songs about her ex-boyfriends,' and I think, frankly, that's just a very sexist angle to take," said the "Blank Space" singer. "No one says that about Ed Sheeran. No one says it about Bruno Mars. They're all writing about their exes, their current girlfriends, their love life and no one raises a red flag there."
