It's always good to have a friend help you through a tough time.

"Hunger Games: Mockingjay" actor Liam Hemsworth revealed in a recent interview that co-star Jennifer Lawrence helped him through his break up with fiancée Miley Cyrus last year. And according to JLaw, she supported her friend like a mother would.

"Being around someone like Jen, who is so honest and laughs all day long, I am forced to be in the right now," explained Hemsworth told the Associated Press.

Hemsworth and Cyrus, who met on the set of "The Last Song," got engaged in 2012 after a three-year on-and-off relationship. However, the pair split in September, 2013.

"I'm much happier...I'm more comfortable in my own skin than I've ever been," revealed Hemsworth.

"For a few years I went down a path where I forgot to be in the moment," added the 24-year-old Australian actor.

Lawrence later tweeted about her friendship with Hemsworth.

"I took care of Liam as a mother after breaking up with his girlfriend," wrote Lawrence on Twitter.

As for Miley Cyrus, the 21-year-old songstress recently discussed her hit single "Wrecking Ball," a song that was inspired by her relationship with Hemsworth.

In an interview with Australia's Sunday Night, Cyrus revealed that the track was also about finding personal happiness in the midst of tough times.

"It's about finding yourself, and sometimes you have to separate yourself from everyone. I just had to become this person who is sitting in this chair right now," explained Cyrus. "If I didn't, I just felt like there was something that was going to explode and I had to set myself free."
