Amy Jo Johnson Puts Her Pink Power Ranger Costume Back On To Celebrate Crowdfunding Of Her Directorial Debut, ‘The Space Between’

Amy Jo Johnson will always be the Pink Power Ranger!

The 44-year-old actress celebrated the successful crowdfunding of her debut film as a writer/director, "The Space Between," by performing a special acoustic concert in Toronto on Friday. And she wore her Pink Ranger costume!

Johnson promised fans on her Indiegogo account that if they helped her raise $75,000 to make "The Space Between," she would dress up in her rosy uniform from her days playing Kimberly on "The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers."

Fans quickly showered Johnson's film project with support. The movie raised over $100,000 in less than a month. And so, Johnson broke out the old costume.

According to ComicBook.com, the challenge was originally devised by David Yost, who played nerdy Billy, the Blue Ranger, on the popular children's television series.

"I'm feeling a little weird about that," Johnson said in a video response. "But if you guys think it's a good idea, I will totally rise to the occasion."

When Johnson's film hit its goal on the crowdfunding site, she promptly hit the streets of Toronto to keep her promise. And she was even joined by Batman.

"Just woke and realized this wasn't a strange dream I had," Johnson later wrote on Instagram. "Thank you Mark Levy for the photo! And @xkisskisskillx for the suit! Omg! So much stinking fun! All for the love of The Space Between!"

According to the film's Indiegogo page, it's official description reads:

"When a proud new father learns his wife took his infertility into her own hands with a 19-year-old ginger, he sets out on a hilarious and heartfelt journey to find the biological baby-daddy. Filled with a quirky cast of supporting characters, The Space Between is a film about acceptance, family, love....and a few dirty diapers."

In addition to Johnson, "The Space Between" also stars Michael Cram, Sonya Salomaa, and David Paetkau.

And the project may have reached its goal, but there are still 13 days left to donate . The deadline is Nov. 23. If you would like to help Amy Jo make her first feature film, visit the project's Indiegogo page.
