Anna Faris Intimidated By Husband Chris Pratt's Soaring Career? 'Mom' Actress Admits 'Guardians Of The Galaxy' Star Lord Is Hilarious But Claims She's Funnier Than 'Parks & Recreation' Actor [VIDEO]

Chris Pratt, star of two of the biggest blockbuster hits of the year - "The Lego Movie" and "The Guardians Of The Galaxy" - may have emerged as the latest Hollywood sweetheart, but wife Anna Faris still thinks she has the upper hand.

After giving birth to son Jack, now 2 years old, Faris was concerned she would face a plummeting career. Despite early success with the "Scary Movie" films, as well as movies such as "Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs," "The House Bunny," and "I Give It A Year," Faris feared her acting life might not have been able to be resurrected after taking time off to concentrate on her family life at home and being a mother.

At the same time, Chris Pratt's career was suddenly blowing up. And although she may have been proud of her hubby, its possible that she was also intimidated by his growing popularity.

In an interview with British magazine Grazia, Faris explained ""After I had my baby when I was 36, I was like, 'Is my run over?' My husband's career was going crazy and I was, like, 'Maybe I'll try and do some writing... then I can be at home with my son.' That's when Mom came along," she told the publication.

Ironically, the mom found a career resurgence when least expected - on the hilarious CBS series "Mom," now in its second season.

The show, while not necessarily a ratings hit, has a strong following due to its unique nature as a sitcom with an extra something-something. Co-starring 54-year-old Allison Janney, the CBS show centers around Faris' character Christy, a recently sober single mom attempting to reshape her life.

According to Mrs. Pratt, ""Our show has two women who aren't young. That's remarkable in itself. We were doing this scene where Allison and I are in the car with Octavia Spencer and Mimi Kennedy, and it was like, we're not talking about boys. We're talking about driving Octavia to jail. When was the last time this happened? Four women, over 30, in a car, not talking about boys," she said.

The comedy star, who's husband and "Parks and Recreation" actor Chris Pratt has made a solid name for himself as a comedy icon recently, believes she's definitely funnier than her man. Still, she struggles to tell jokes despite her goofy personality and quirky roles.

""Oh golly. Chris is a really funny guy. We both started out playing very stupid people and there's something interesting in that. I hope people's impressions are that we're jovial. They probably have low expectations anyway...I'm funnier," she joked to Grazia.

Others may disagree, including "Parks and Recreation" writer Megan Amram. In a special Reddit AMA, Amram explained "Chris Pratt is one of the best humans on earth. I was filming an episode last year and he was supposed to hit a phone out of someone's hand, and instead he DROP KICKED A FAX MACHINE ACROSS THE SET. It hit a phone and you could so loudly hear the dial tone as it laid off the hook. I think it's the hardest I've ever laughed...There are definitely a lot of improved lines that get in the show. So, so many incredible improvisers in our cast. Amy [Poehler] and Pratt are especially incredible!"
