Ginger Spice is engaged!

Former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell, 42, announced her plan to wed Christian Horner, 40, in a simple ad in The Times newspaper on Tuesday.

The traditional announcement read, "The engagement is announced between Christian, son of Mr and Mrs G.M. Horner and Geraldine, daughter of the late Mr L.F. Halliwell and Mrs A. Parkinson."

How sweet!

Old-fashioned newspaper engagement announcements seem to be somewhat popular at the moment for British stars. Benedict Cumberbatch shared news of his engagement to Sophie Hunter in The Times just last week, while "The Theory of Everything" star Eddie Redmayne revealed his plans to publicist Hannah Bagshawe in the same newspaper in June.

As for Ginger Spice, Halliwell also took to Twitter on Tuesday to confirm the news of her engagement.  

"Christian and I are delighted to announce that we are engaged! We're both very happy," tweeted the British songstress.

"Everyone is really pleased for them and wish them happiness and good health together for many many years to come," Halliwell's rep told the Daily Mail later on Tuesday.

The couple reportedly began dating earlier this year in March but have been friends since 2009.

Horner is a former racecar driver and currently serves as the Team Principal of the Infiniti Red Bull Racing Formula One team.

Halliwell has an 8-year-old daughter Bluebell from a previous relationship with Sachi Gervasi. Horner has a 1-year-old daughter from a prior relationship.

Like Halliwell's unadorned wedding announcement, the former Ginger Spice star's engagement ring is simple and elegant as well.

She was spotted wearing the diamond sparkler on Tuesday at London's Heathrow airport with her fiancé.
