While the "Taken" actor showed his devotion to Natasha Richardson when she was still alive, latest reports claimed that Liam Neeson's wife could have been Brooke Shields. Over the weekend, the "Blue Lagoon" actress admitted that Neeson proposed to her twice.

According to Shields, the 62-year-old wooed her using his "brogue, poetry and his s---ty choice of cheap pinot grigio wine." It wasn't too long when the two eventually got together.

"I was so impressed with going out with a real movie star. We got serious after only three months. He asked me to marry him without a ring," she told People magazine.

The two spent Christmas together in 1992. The "Third Person" actor promised that he'd call her but it would be "late." However, Neeson never called. It did not stop there because the "Schindler's List" actor resurfaced.

Shields rejected his offer that time knowing that Neeson might fall in love with another girl:

"He actually proposed again. But it just made the book too long and it wasn't about my mother [the focus of this book]. So I'll have to do that in my memoir. He came back after the first time he left me and asked me to marry him again. This was before he started to do a play [Anna Christie]. And I said, 'No, no, no, because knowing you, you'll probably fall in love with your next leading lady and marry her, so I'm leaving myself out of this.' And I was dead right." He did later marry Natasha Richardson after working with her."

Such chapter in Shields' life will be further discussed in her new book entitled "There was a Little Girl." The book mostly depicts the life of Shields' mother including her alcoholism and her death because of Alzheimer's.

Liam Neeson's wife Natasha Richardson died in 2009 at the age of 45 because of a ski accident. The family opted to take off her life support because she was brain dead. As per Neeson, they have a pact that if any of them got into a "vegetative state," the plug must be pulled.

The "Third Person" actor is now dating PR executive Freya St. Johnston.
