Pregnant Kate Middleton Cradles Baby Bump At Charity Event; Duchess Of Cambridge Plays Gracious Host At Kensington Palace

A very pregnant Kate Middleton was snapped cradling her baby bump at a charity event as the Duchess of Cambridge played host at Kensington Palace.

"Kate, now four months pregnant with her second child, was joined in the Kensington Palace State Apartments by her children's mental health charity Place2Be for their first ever Wellbeing in Schools Awards," said UK's Mirror.

The pregnant Kate Middleton managed to look sophisticated despite her baby bump by wearing a black Hobbs top and skirt by Jenny Packham, the publication said. Prince William's wife arrived at around 6:20 p.m. at the Queen's Gallery.

Kate Middleton then presented a Child Champion Award to 11-year-old Bailey Dunne, from Highfield Community Primary School in Sunderland, who served as an inspiration to others by overcoming his own troubles and helping others.

Kate Middleton described the Child Champion Award as recognizing the work in the emotional health of kids.

"The commitment, dedication and hard work that is going in across the schools involved with Place2Be is truly humbling, and to recognise that feels incredibly important," she said, according to MailOnline.

Just last month, it was reported that Kate Middleton was suffering from morning sickness, which forced her to bow out of some commitments.

Her mother Carole "has apparently helped to take charge of her recovery and has been researching alternative sickness cures, such as herbal tea, on the internet."

"Don't be fooled by the fact that she hasn't been admitted to hospital this time. She is just as poorly. The difference is that her doctors have been able to diagnose and treat her quicker. She really hasn't been at all well, though," an insider told MailOnline.

In order not to put baby George at risk, Carole Middleton is also taking turns with Spanish nanny Maria Borallo to care for him while his mother rests. The Duchess of Cambridge has said that she's more relaxed at the Bucklebury Manor than at Kensington Palace, where she's expected to act like the future Queen.

The pregnant Kate Middleton is expected to deliver her second child by the end of April 2015.
