Things are heating up as "Castle" season 7 episode 8 spoilers revealed that Ryan and Esposito will find themselves in the middle of a terrorist attack. Meanwhile, cast Stana Katic said the show is preparing to end on a high note.

According the synopsis, which doesn't provide much "Castle" season 7, episode 8 spoilers, by TV.com: "Castle and Beckett need to uncover a gunman's agenda after he takes hostages, including Esposito, on the subway."

Earlier, showrunner David Amman teased episode 8 spoilers to TVGuide as he said that it will force Esposito to take stock of what's important.

"Esposito follows him into a subway, and the guy sees that he's a cop, pulls a gun and holds the car hostage. Our people on the outside are trying to figure out: 'Who is this guy, really, because he clearly isn't who we thought he was.'"

"It does make him reflect on his relationship with Lanie, and consider its importance in his life," the showrunner said.

Cast Stana Katic, meanwhile, gave away "Castle" season 7 episode 8 spoilers to TVLine as she said that she liked the episode about Esposito "because I like the fact that one of my coworkers gets to shine like that, because those guys are super-talented, Jon [Huertas] and Seamus [Dever]. All of the cast is incredible, but those guys, when they get a chance to kind of get down and dirty, they love it, and they're so creative."

She also promised that the series won't overstay its welcome as the producers intend to end on a high note.

"For me it's about art over finance, and as long as we're creating something that is compelling and that has somewhere to go, then we're good to go," "Castle" season 7 cast Stana Katic said. "And when we find that we're not, when we don't have anywhere else to go, then it's time for everyone to pack up and move onto the next thing."
