Cher has, again, cancelled a series a gig for this month's Dressed To Kill Tour for said viral infection that has plagued the pop diva, Daily Mail said. This is not the first time that the singer has released such urgent decisions as she has also previously cancelled some shows in September and October that has amounted to 29 cancelled gigs.

'I am totally devastated. Nothing like this has ever happened to me. I cannot apologize enough to all the fans who bought tickets. I'm so proud of this show. It is my best ever. I sincerely hope that we can come back again next year and finish what we started," the 68-year old singer said.

Previous reports released by E! Online and Closer Weekly that the American singer needs time to recuperate from her illness. The infection is said to have affected the American singer's kidneys. Further, doctors are making sure that her heart is functioning well.

"While her progress has been consistent, Cher's doctors have advised her to take more time to ensure and complete and total recovery," goes the announcement posted in her official website as quoted by BBC.

The Believe songstress also made posted an apology for her fans in her Twitter page for the cancelled shows.

"I'm SORRY I Couldn't B the 1 to tell you about postponing my tour. I Tried SO HARD 2b Strong enough, but my Will couldn't force my Body time," she tweeted.

The D2K (Dressed To Kill Tour) is said to have started in March this year and is scheduled to have a wrap-up on February 4 in Fargo, North Dakota with a scheduled break in July. The tour is said to have reaped at least $54.9m (£32m) for the 49 sell-out shows-one of the most formidable tour sales for this year.

Meanwhile, BBC said that ticket refunds for Cher's cancelled Dressed To Kill Tour dates are available in outlets where they are purchased.
