Solange Knowles Honors Michael Brown By Postponing Launch Of Puma Shoe Collection For ‘Black Out Black Friday’

In the wake of the decision to not indict Darren Wilson for the shooting death of unarmed teenager Michael Brown, many celebrities are showing their support for the Brown family.

Solange Knowles decided to honor the memory of Michael Brown by delaying the launch of her new "Wild Wonder" shoe collection for Puma.

Knowles was originally scheduled to release her shoe line on Black Friday but due to the outcome of the Darren Wilson case, she decided to postpone the sneaker launch as part of a movement that some are calling "Black Out Black Friday."  

"To echo my feelings shared surrounding the outcome of the Michael Brown case, I have solely decided to postpone the release of my Puma collaboration originally scheduled to release this Friday, November 28th to Monday December 1st," wrote Solange on Instagram. "I am truly grateful for everyone's support and excited to share this collection with you soon..."

The public is still reeling from the controversial court case. After learning that Wilson, the police officer who shot and killed 18-yar-old Michael Brown Jr., would not face trial for the shooting, there has been widespread reaction from citizens all over the country.

Countless people have taken to the streets in Ferguson, Missouri, where the shooting occurred, as well as in cities like Los Angeles, New York, and Washington D.C.

Many celebrities has spoken about the court ruling like Solange, voicing their opinions and offering words of peace and comfort to a hurt and frustrated public.

As for Solange's shoe line, "Wild Wonder" features bright sneaker designs and was done in collaboration with Hisham A. Baroocha and Gerlan Jeans.

The shoes will be available for purchase on Monday, Dec. 1st, as she mentioned in her Instagram post.

Knowles also took the time on Thanksgiving to wish the whole country a peaceful holiday on the social media site.
