‘Cake Boss’ Buddy Valastro Tweets Apology After Pleading Guilty To DUI

"Cake Boss" star Buddy Valastro shocked fans when he was arrested last month for a DUI.

On Monday (Dec. 1), Valastro, 37, pled guilty to the drunk driving charges. He also took to Twitter to apologize to the world for his poor judgment.

"I want to thank everyone for their support. I also want to apologize to everyone," wrote the "Cake Boss" celebrity pastry chef on Twitter.

"I pled guilty today because I wanted to make this right," he continued. "I learned an important lesson that if you have even one drink you shouldn't drive."

The TLC star, whose show "Cake Boss" has made his New Jersey shop, Carlo's Bakery, famous worldwide, was arrested on Nov. 13 in New York City. He was reportedly spotted by police swerving in a yellow Corvett after 1 a.m.

According to PEOPLE, a spokesperson for the New York City Police Department said that Valastro "was noticeably unsteady on his feet" and had "bloodshot watery eyes."

When given a blood-alcohol test, it was determined that Valastro was just above the legal limit.

According to CBS New York, prosecutors told the court that Valastro told police at the time, "You can't arrest me. I'm the Cake Boss."

Now, the pastry chef seems to have adopted a very different tune.

"I thought I was fine to drive, but I wasn't," added Valastro on Twitter. "I put people in danger. I am very disappointed in myself."

"I'll never get behind the wheel of a car again, even after one sip. My sincerest apologies to my family, friends and fans," he concluded.

The Associated Press reports that the "Cake Boss" star will now have his license suspended for 90 days and must pay a fine of $300. His conviction is considered a ticketable violation instead of a crime. Buddy must also attend classes on the danger of drinking and driving.
