Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder's split might have happened a long time ago but several insiders claimed that the two didn't get back to being friends. Somerhalder's continuous display of affection to Nikki Reed allegedly irks Dobrev.

According to insiders of Hollywood Life, "The Vampire Diaries" actor is "insensitive" for not minding Dobrev's feelings on set: "The general feeling is that Ian is being very insensitive about this, and that's putting it nicely."

The source likewise said that producers initially warned Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder that their work might be jeopardized should their relationship fall apart.

"This is exactly why producers actually tried to forbid Nina and Ian from dating. They were worried something like this would happen. Ian and Nina tried to hide their relationship for so long because they were very strictly forbidden from that, but obviously they did go there," said the source.

Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder's alleged cold treatment of each other is reportedly affecting the atmosphere on set: "Exactly what they promised wouldn't happen, has happened, and it's getting in the way of their work."

Previously, it has been reported that producers have asked the former "Lost" actor to stop bringing Reed when they're filming.

Despite the alleged banning of Reed from the set, it wouldn't stop her from expressing her love for her beau. When Somerhalder celebrated his birthday on December 8, the 26-year-old made sure to post a lengthy and heartfelt message for him:
