A spokesperson for Kate Hudson told People magazine "Kate and Matt have been separated for some time now. Despite this, they remain very close friends and committed co-parents."

Kate Hudson was spotted without her engagement ring on Tuesday, Dec. 9 in Los Angeles, one day after Us Weekly reported the Kate Hudson Matt Bellamy breakup.

Last week, Us Weekly reported that Kate Hudson was seen kissing Cheryl Fernandez-Versini's ex-boyfriend, dancer Derek Hough in a bar.

While on his way into a Tony Robbins life coaching seminar in Boca Raton, Florida on Friday, Hough was evasive about the dating news, saying, 'It's not really the time or the place to talk about it buddy.'

Bill Hudson, who was married to Goldie Hawn during Private Benjamin period, says Kate is a lot like her mother.

"It's heartbreaking to see yet another of Kate's relationships break down. She has a wandering eye, just like her mother. What people don't realise is that behind the glitz and glamour of fame and stardom is a darker reality. When you are in a bubble - and Kate's been in a bubble her whole life as the daughter of a celebrity and now a celebrity herself - it is much harder to sustain a long-term relationship," Bill Hudson told Britain's Daily Mail newspaper.

"To be a star, by its very definition, you have to be selfish. To sustain her level of fame Kate has to put herself first, and that isn't a recipe for successful romance. I take full responsibility for the fact that my actions when she was a girl helped contribute to the problems she has forming lasting bonds today. I feel tremendous guilt," he continued.
