Simon Baker's Patrick Jane might be down with a disease but he's certainly not out as he helps the team get to the bottom of a murder mystery, in the episode 4 spoilers of "The Mentalist" season 7.

In the last episode, the cunning Erica Flynn almost managed to escape if not for the timely help of Patrick Jane and Teresa Lisbon. Fans might remember the two agents soliciting Erica's help in trying to capture her lover in Beirut for a series of terroristic acts. In exchange, she will be granted immunity.

"Jane almost drowned when he tried to become the new messenger of the terrorist group," according to this recap. "When he finally got in, he needed to remember a random series of 81 numbers then repeat them verbally to a person located in Atlanta. "

Episode 4 spoilers of "The Mentalist" season 7 can be gleaned from the synopsis, which read: "A head cold is going to force Jane to run his investigation from the office. The team will investigate a murder linked to a counterfeit diamond operation, but an illness is going to force Jane to direct his colleagues from the office as he recuperates. Meanwhile, Abbott will be concerned that transgressions in his past, could harm his wife's chance to obtain a prestigious job in Washington, D.C."
