VH1 surely generated controversy with its "Sorority Sisters" premiere episode. Apart from angered fans, its resident R&B darling K. Michelle likewise expressed her dismay for the new reality series.

"Sorority Sisters" is the network's newest show which documents the lives of members coming from four various Greek organizations. The "Love & Hip Hop Atlanta" actress talked to Baltimore's 92Q radio about her concern for the show.

"I don't plan on watching that. I do not plan on supporting that. I will support them as sisters...but when you represent a whole brand and you're talking about this brand on TV, it is not appropriate," the songstress said. "It hurt my heart."

K. Michelle knows what she is talking about for she is also a member of a sorority. She claims to come from a long line legacy of Delta Sigma Theta, one of the sororities being documented in the show.

"I am a Delta. I have acted a fool on TV, but at the same time, I did not do it with the Delta Sigma Theta tatted on my back in front of people," she explained "You don't get on TV in the name of women who came before us and do what you're doing."

"Something should be sacred for us, especially at a time when our Black community is struggling so much," added the reality star. "The sororities and fraternities are the one things that we look to in college that uplift the community...Everything doesn't need to be exposed when it comes to that."

A couple of petitions have been started in an attempt for VH1 to stop the "Sorority Sisters" premiere. Carmex has also announced that it would pull its advertising placements on the network because of the people's concern for the show.

"Yes. We'll be pulling our ads from VH1 until the program is pulled in order to join our voice with many of our customers," read a post on the brand's official Twitter page.
