‘Mission Impossible 5’ Star Tom Cruise And The Role Of Scientology To His Failed Marriages With Nicole Kidman & Katie Holmes

The role of Scientology to Nicole Kidman and Katie Holmes' failed marriages with "Mission Impossible 5" star Tom Cruise has long been questioned by the public.

And while, the 52-year-old Hollywood superstar first admitted that his religion had played a part in Holmes' decision of divorcing him, the story behind his failed marriage with Kidman on the other hand, was rarely tackled.

"Katie Holmes left you in part to protect Suri from Scientology," a lawyer reportedly asked Tom during his deposition against a publishing company according to TMZ.

To which the "Mission Impossible 5" star answered, "Did she say that? That was one of the assertions, yes."

Then reportedly adding that his eight-year-old daughter Suri is no longer a member of Scientology.

And while the role of Scientology in his divorce with former wife Katie Holmes has already been settled, a new report from Radar Online reveals that Cruise's religion also caused him his marriage with Nicole Kidman.

According to the entertainment publication, former Scientologist and Jason Lee's ex-wife, Carmen Llewellyn dropped the bomb on why Tom reportedly "had to divorce" Kidman.

"I had been told [Tom] was a Scientologist but I had never seen him there," Llewellyn explained Radar. "When they started working on Vanilla Sky together we were all having dinner ... he said, 'Yeah me and Nic, we're Scientologists."
She then continued with her claims that Tom was forced to divorce Kidman because she was becoming a hindrance to his role in the group.

"People had said that Tom was a Scientologist ... but that it was Nicole Kidman who was sort of slowly taking him away from that," she revealed.

"I loved [Nicole]," she admitted. "I thought she was so cool. I remember the reason why I thought she was very cool because in Scientology the roles are very traditional."

Llewellyn continued her story sharing how Kidman seemed not to care about "Mission Impossible 5" star Tom Cruise's position in Scientology.

"When I got around them I noticed that she talked to him however she bloody wanted to and I just remembered thinking that's really cool," Llewellyn said. "When I saw Nicole Kidman do that it kind of inspired me."

"I heard that a divorce was happening and someone told me that she was an SP [a Suppressive Person] and that Tom had to divorce her basically," Llewellyn alleged. "This came from his own team of people. So they can cry about that all they want, but that is what was said and that is what they were saying," she revealed.

While Cruise's team failed to comment on the claims of Llewellyn, a representative for Scientology reportedly told Radar, "This is the latest in a long list of pathetic and bizarre claims in which Ms. Llywelyn seeks to avoid taking personal responsibility for her actions by blaming the Church and others. Any claim that she has been harassed by the Church is false, paranoid and delusional. Furthermore, Ms. Llywelyn has no knowledge of the Church today, having been expelled from the Church twelve years ago.The Church does not condone violence, believes in tolerance, does not interfere in the personal affairs of its parishioners and has a record that speaks for itself in helping countless people lead addiction-free lives."

Do you think that like with his failed marriage with Katie Holmes, Scientology also was the reason why "Mission Impossible 5" star Tom Cruise had to end his marriage with Nicole Kidman 13 years ago? Sound off in the comments section below.
