"The Mentalist" season 7, episode 6 spoilers reveal that Abbot's former colleague will derail an investigation that could threaten his very career.

According to the synopsis: "The FBI will get asked to consult on a botched DEA raid, but Abbott's former colleage could derail the investigation and Abbott's career."

Another episode description said: "The FBI is going to get brought in to consult on a botched DEA raid, but when Abbott's former boss tries to blackmail Abbott into keeping the agency's missteps quiet, he will be forced to choose between his career and morals."

Cartermatt said that Abbott "is going to be a huge part of the equation, as he starts to find out that his past will for sure come back to haunt him."

"He attempted previously to try and hide himself from the reality that it could, and also wanted to ensure that his wife was able to move up in the world professionally," the site said.

"Green Light" would also be a very significant episode for Jisbon fans as the description over at TV Fanatic reveals that Patrick Jane and Teresa Lisbon will celebrate his birthday. And photo stills show the two kissing.

This year, the show's creators have promised to focus more on the Patrick Jane and Teresa Lisbon romance after the Red John saga.

In a report from The Hollywood Reporter, "The Mentalist" season 7 cast member Robin Tunney said that this is the time for the show to change mythology and explore the love story between her character and Simon Baker's character.

"It would've been really inappropriate during all the Red John stuff," Teresa Lisbon said.
