Are Katy Perry and John Mayer dating again? Rumors are flying that the two exes have reunited after they were spotted having dinner and spending the night in her home.

"The pop stars were said to have arrived separately, and went to great lengths not to be seen together. After the outing, Mayer reportedly spent the night at his ex-girlfriend's home, and didn't leave until the following afternoon," the NY Daily News reported.

The publication called the respective reps of John Mayer and Katy Perry, but have not received a call back.

Katy Perry and John Mayer started dated in the summer of 2012 after the "Roar" singer and Russell Brand divorced following a 14-month union. The two singers finally broke up in February 2014 after rumors that they have gotten engaged.

According to various reports of Katy Perry and John Mayer's split, the two singers are strong-willed who take their careers quite seriously, and although they really feel something for each other, ultimately they had to part.

The Daily Mail reported that after the dinner party, the two left separately to go to Katy Perry's house nearby.

The British tabloid quoted a source as saying that the "Wildfire" singer stayed at Katy Perry's house until 4 p.m. of the following day.

John Mayer earlier told Sirius Radio that it's not surprising if exes get back together.

"It is a connection to the past, a reaction to fear of the unknown. They go back with a guy they don't like just because they know how to get to his bathroom in the dark," he said.

Katy Perry had a brief fling with DJ Diplo but Us Weekly said that it was never serious from the start.

The source also told Us Weekly that Katy Perry and John Mayer are indeed dating.

"Things just needed to cool down. They aren't officially back on but talking again," the source added.
